DFB Cup: 1/4 final at Bayer Leverkusen

When the 1/4 of this years DFB Cup was drawn, there was many disappointment at Kaiserslautern as the 2nd Division team has to travel to Champions League 1/8 final participant and Bundesliga second Bayer Leverkusen. Disappointing as well, when you see that with Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim and Hamburg, three teams are still in competition that would have been more beatable for K-Town. FCK To Play In A Special Jersey On Saturday

On saturday, FCK will play with a special jersey. The jersey shows the normal chili-red color on the front and a print of the Westkurve on the back. The jersey wants to symbol the Westkurve which is always in the back of the players to support them all the time.

The  to 1900 exemplars limited jerseys will be available from saturday on in the FCK shops in Kaiserslautern and online at fck-shop.de. It is available in the european sizes from S to 4XL and will cost 89,99€.

Lakic comes back to his ‘German Home’

On Friday, the rumours that had started on Thursday were confirmed, 30 year old Croatian, Srdjan Lakic had returned to Kaiserslautern on a 6 month contract with the option for a further year after dissolving his loan deal at Frankfurt as well as his contract at Wolfsburg, after a unhappy and unsuccessful 2 and a half years away from the Pfalz.

With Lakic re-joining FCK, one of the more polarising figures in recent FCK history returns, not many will forget his 2010/11 season – Kaiserslautern’s first in the Bundesliga in 4 years where he went on to score 16 goals in 31 games including winning goals against Köln, Schalke twice (including the opener in the 5-0 home thumping), Bremen twice and Stuttgart or a matching winning brace in Karlsruher in the derby during the Aufstieg season of 2009/10  or his 11 minute matching winning hattrick in Koblenz in the Pokal in 2010 (a week before he announced his move to Wolfsburg).
